Do you get priority admission to the schools if your child has attended one of our preschools?

Yes, if the child has attended one of our preschools, they are given priority admission to Engelska skolan Skarpnäck, Engelska skolan Norr, and Engelska skolan Novia.

Can you attend your preschools and schools even if you live in another municipality?

Yes, you can. You apply as usual through Stockholm City’s queue system, but it’s also a good idea to contact your home municipality and inform them about your preference. Municipalities have different administrative procedures and typically appreciate being notified well in advance.

Do I, as a guardian, have the opportunity to be involved in the school?

Collaboration with you as parents is very important. In addition to parent meetings and development talks, you have the opportunity to participate in the preschool’s/school’s parent council/school council, where representatives from the groups/classes meet with the preschool/school to discuss current topics and collaboration.

What are the opening hours of the after-school program?

We follow Stockholm City’s guidelines regarding opening hours. Changes in childcare needs at the after-school program must be reported to the respective principal with at least 30 days’ notice.

What is the fee for the after-school program?

The fee is based on Stockholm City’s maximum fee system, and you can easily calculate the fee on their website. For more information about fees, please visit Stockholm City’s website.

How is the transition between preschool and school organized?

If the child attends one of our preschools and continues to one of our schools, we arrange a series of orientation meetings before the summer so that the future school children can get to know their new teachers, the environment, and their new friends. These meetings take place during school hours.
Children who attend our preschools but choose other schools are referred to that school’s routine for orientation.
Orientation for children from other preschools is held through a meeting in May, where both parents and children are welcome to meet their teachers and receive useful information.
